Last 2 weeks

Obama's Last Two weeks tracked by Greenwald.

- Supported a Bush Dog over a progressive challenger.

  • Announced support for the FISA bill, reversing his original position.
  • sided with the Scalia/Thomas faction in two highly charged Supreme Court decisions;
  • Threw Wes Clark under the bus
  • Threw Moveon.Org under the bus
  • defended his own patriotism by impugning the patriotism of others.
  • unveiled plans "to expand President Bush's program steering federal social service dollars to religious groups and -- in a move sure to cause controversy . . . letting religious charities that receive federal funding consider religion in employment decisions,"

This is not a nimble dash to the center. This is a sprint to the right.

Maureen Dowd's silly statement.

Here is the article - http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/29/opinio n/29dowd.html?ref=opinion

She writes

It's hard to fathom why Obama should be mau-maued into paying off the debt that Hillary and Bill accrued attacking and undermining him

What a stupid statement!!
The short answer is another question - "Why should Hillary help Obama get votes from all her supporters who were alienated by Obama & his campaign attacking Hillary & Bill?"

Worst site in the world

Current diary in question is this - Kudos to Clinton supporters who stayed, with grace.
The premise of the dairy is itself broken - the underlying comment here being that except for a couple of HRC supporters, the other supporters on dailyKos, who either remained behind or left did so - did so disgracefully.
What a bloody patronising diary. Couldn't have been more patronizing if it had been written by Laura Ingraham, instead of MsLaura.

This is not the <X> I knew

Obama's statement about his now convicted friend, Rezko.
Link here

"This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew," he said, adding that the charges against Rezko "once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform."

That's not the Rev Wright, I knew.
That's not the Pfleger, I knew.
That's not the Auchi, I once toasted to.
That's not the Ayers, I knew.

Learn from Republicans

Learn how to attack a candidate from the Republicans. We democrats are pretty useless at that.

Hillary fans attacked Obama with lame stuff like "He isn't experienced", "He doesn't understand policy", "He is not ready to be CIC" etc.

Even more ridiculous is Larry Johnson's Whitey video tommorow(+1).

Obama's Tuzla moment

Obama's very own Tuzla moment via Ace of Spades.

In one of his more egregious and easily demonstrated lies, made even more so by the day he decided to let it loose on, Obama has rewritten WWII history such that the allies liberated Auschwitz.

...Obama also spoke about his uncle, who was part of the American brigade that helped to liberate Auschwitz...

Of course it goes without saying that the media has thus far failed to call the Messiah on this apparently obviously outrageous lie. Unless Obama's "uncle" was serving in the Red Army, its a pretty safe bet he was many hundreds of miles from Auschwitz on its day of liberation.

Corporate Money and Obama

Obama's Lobbyist Connection article from Newsweek.

"It's corporate money trying to hoodwink the public," the state's Democratic Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn said. What got scant notice then--but may soon get more scrutiny--is that CORE was the brainchild of ASK Public Strategies, a consulting firm whose senior partner is David Axelrod, now chief strategist for Barack Obama.

ASK last year proposed a similar "political campaign style approach" to help Illinois hospitals block a state proposal that would have forced them to provide more medical care to the indigent. One part of its plan: create a "grassroots" group of medical experts "capable of contacting policymakers to advocate for our position," according to a copy of the proposal. (ASK didn't get the contract.) Public-interest watchdogs say these grassroots campaigns are state of the art in the lobbying world. "There's no way with a straight face to say that's not lobbying," says Ellen Miller, director of the Sunlight Foundation, which promotes government transparency.

More after the flip

Mission Accomplished

The latest Suffolk Univ Polls.

In Kentucky, Hillary Clinton (51 percent) led Barack Obama (25 percent) by 26 points, followed by John Edwards (6 percent) and "uncommitted" (5 percent), while 11 percent were undecided.

In Oregon, Obama (45 percent) led Clinton (41 percent) by 4 points, with 8 percent undecided and 6 percent refusing a response.

I think before Oregon & Kentucky counting begins on May 20th, Obama should give a Victory speech with a "Mission Accomplished" somewhere in the backgroun. The math says that there is no way for Hillary to become the Nominee.
